In ancient Greece, pilgrims traveled to Delphi, known then as the “navel” of the world. Their journey was one of self-discovery where they would consult with the oracle of the temple, who would answer their questions. Answers were never simple to understand, in fact, answers were given in a riddle that required self-evaluation to decipher. A stone in front of the temple was inscribed with the words: “Know Thyself,” emphasizing that the end goal of the petitioner to look inward to overcome their challenges.
